Working With Others
Local film producers might hit you up for some work on their short film, and then you are able to get real life experiences, and meet people that you most likely would not have come across in any other way. This is very important because if you want to push your career further you will need to have some projects under your belt even if they aren’t big productions. Ultimately people want to know that you are capable of doing the job well and effectively. For example this will tie into having proper studio etiquette. Nobody wants to work with someone that is unpleasant to be around or is difficult. Great projects with great potential can go south because of someone who isn’t willing to cooperate, or someone that doesn’t work well in a team even if they are more than qualified for the job. This is one of the main things that I’ve gathered from my research and from my interview with Ben. The way you interact, and work with people can really make or break your career in audio, and for that matter any job that requires teamwork, and collaboration.
